See Scottie Scheffler React To His Son's Diaper Blowout
PGA star Scottie Scheffler’s reaction to his son Bennet’s diaper blowout was perfectly on par: steady, composed, and unfazed.
In a moment captured by CBS Golf, Scheffler’s wife, Meredith, handed their 12-month-old baby boy to her husband with a lighthearted warning.
“He’s got poop all over his back so be prepared — sorry!" Meredith says. Scheffler, 28, nonchalant, simply replies, “That’ll happen.” He doesn’t flinch nor expresses any surprise, and just takes the handoff in stride.
Just moments earlier, on June 1, Scheffler secured his third PGA Tour victory of the season with a win at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.
Meredith, in a white floral sundress, and little Bennett, wearing a onesie marked by the wardrobe mishap, raced onto the green to hug and congratulate Scheffler.
“He had so much fun watching you!” Meredith, 29, exclaims, as Bennett sucks on his fingers.
During a post-win interview, Scheffler grew visibly emotional as he spoke about Meredith’s integral role in his journey.
The couple, high school sweethearts from Dallas, Texas, sustained a long-distance relationship through their college years before marrying in December 2020.
“My wife is my biggest supporter; she’s my best friend,” Scheffler told Golf on CBS, his voice thick with affection. Cradling Bennett in one arm, he glanced down down at the toddler and smiled before noting, “I definitely couldn’t do it with her.”
In a recent interview with Rolex, reflecting on his 2022 Masters win, Scheffler recalled feeling “a bit overwhelmed” by the triumph.
“I remember crying a lot, just because I was able to sit there with my wife,” he recalled. “She knows me better than anybody. She saw me go from being a fairly anonymous player on the tour to being number one in the world. If I lost that day, she loves me the same.”
